Come and see what has been uncovered during this year’s summer excavation at our Open Day on Saturday 15 June 2019.
Tours of Chester Farm landscape and the excavation of a former Roman cemetery.
Tours will last about an hour and a half. You will need to be prepared to walk over uneven ground and be appropriately dressed for the weather.
If you have visited Chester Farm before but want to find out about the latest archaeological discoveries on site, this tour is for you. If you have never visited before, this tour is your opportunity to find out about its heritage significance and learn about the plans to open it up to public access, as well as see some amazing archaeology.
The three week excavation is being run by Northamptonshire County Council in partnership with the University of Leicester, School of Archaeology and Ancient History. It will provide training and experience to archaeology students and engagement opportunities for community volunteers.
